As every year, the ‘eurofans’ were summoned at the European song festival on May 13, which on this occasion took place in Liverpool. After the triumph of Ukraine in the previous edition of Eurovision, the English city was in charge of organizing the event since the war in Ukraine prevented the legitimate winners could enjoy the privilege of being a host. After counting the votes of each country, loreen, the already winner of the competition and representative of Sweden this year, was able to raise the crystal microphone for the second time, becoming the first woman to do double in the Eurovision Song Contest with his proposal, ‘Tattoo’.

After the performance of the Swedish artist, Twitter was flooded with references to the classic song electronic song ‘Flying Free’ of Pont Aeri, due to the great similarity between Loreen’s winning song and the theme from the 90s. The accusations have reached such a point that, according to the report Catalunya Ràdio’s matíthe DJs themselves who collaborated on the electronic music hit, DJ Ruboy (Rubén Moreno) and DJ Skudero (Marc Escudero), would be studying legal actions for plagiarism against Loreen when she understood that her ‘Tattoo’ has similarities with the most famous song in which they collaborated as DJs at the legendary Pont Aeri nightclub, now closed. However, the fans of the festival have also highlighted several songs with which it has other similarities, including one by Adele and another by another Swedish group famous for its participation in Eurovision, Abba.

In the case of ABBA, Twitter has brought to light the resemblance between the first four verses of Tattoo and the iconic single from the Swedish cauteret, ‘The winner takes it all’ from 1980. On the other hand, some users have noticed slight similarities between the chorus of the Tattoo song and the chorus of Adele’s ‘hit’ ‘Easy on Me’ of 2021 and part of the theme, ‘V Plenum’by the Ukrainian singer Mika Newton.
