The date of launching the railway connection is approaching, thanks to which it will gain a new railway connection – they will commute over Zegrze this summer. According to Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA, the Wieliszew – Zegrze Południowe route is almost completed. Currently, the traction network and the tamped track are being installed. The result of these works will be the restoration of the line to operation and train traffic.
– After 29 years, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA restores the railway connection to Zegrze. Residents will gain convenient access to work and schools. There will be an efficient train connection to Lake Zegrze – we read in the company’s statement. The target route of the railway line is Zegrze – Wieliszew – Legionowo – Warsaw. – Work on this section has been in progress for a long time, we are approaching its end. Warsaw-Zegrze by train. Even before the holidays
Currently, at the Wieliszew Centrum stop, the contractor is assembling lighting poles. Platform slabs, benches and sheds will be laid in succession. Good orientation will be provided by information boards and clear markings. With people with reduced mobility in mind, guiding paths and ramps will be created.
Travelers traveling by car in this area will have to be patient, because the next stage of work will require changes in the organization of traffic. From Monday, May 15, the contractor planned the tamping of the track and finishing works at the crossing in Zegrze on ul. Modlińska (provincial road 631). Works Detours have been prepared for drivers. To Wieliszew, from the direction of Zegrze, it will be Warszawska Street (national road No. 61) and Nowodworska Street (provincial road No. 632). These restrictions will last until May 19. Previously, the road surface was replaced at the crossing, new tracks were laid, and a pedestrian and bicycle path was made. The crossing will be equipped with signals and barriers.

The route would not have been created without the involvement of EU funds. The project “Works on the railway line No. 28 Wieliszew-Zegrze” is 80 percent complete. co-financed by the European Funds under the Regional Operational Program of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship for the years 2014-2020.
