The candidate of the ruling Colorado Party, Santiago Peña, leads in the presidential election of Paraguayan with 46.01% of the votes, to the opposition Efraín Alegre, who adds 29%, when 15.76% of the votes cast have been counted, according to the Superior Court of Electoral Justice (TSJE).
Of a total of 4.8 million potential voters, Peña has 188,902, while Alegre, the candidate for the opposition Coalition National Concertation, has 119,062 votes.
The National Republican Alliance, the other name by which the Colorado Party is known, also leads the vote for the Senate, with a 46.75% (189,981 votes)in this case with a 15.62% of scrutiny.
Participation in this election day -in which deputies, governors and councilors are also elected- is at the 59.75%.
