The UN asks Peru and Chile put an end to their migratory conflict. She does it after the president of Peru has ordered the army deployment to prevent thousands of Venezuelans from entering the country from Chile. Both countries accuse the Venezuelan mafia Tren de Aragua of having skyrocketed crime. Meanwhile, hundreds of migrants crowd the border, a situation that no child should go through.

But they do. As can be seen in the cover video, it was at this very border where the mother of a little boy could hardly breathe while a group of policemen surrounded him. She is not the only one in this situation. These migrantsthe majority Venezuelans, want to return to their country.

His speech is coherent and fair. “As a human being I deserve the opportunity to reach my country. No one can deny me the right to reach my home,” denounces one of them. The problem is when they get to the border.

“We are many fathers and mothers of families who are sleeping badly,” laments a mother. It’s been like this for weeks. The first migrants arrived at the border three months ago.

Peru does not want them to cross its territory. Her president goes further and blames foreigners for the increase in crime in her country. “Assaults, robberies and other criminal acts are foreigners,” said Dina Boluarte. She defends that her country is in danger and has militarized its borders.

Chile and Peru accuse each other of little collaboration to solve this problem. This diplomatic and migratory crisis worries the United Nations, which calls for dialogue and the creation of a humanitarian corridor.
