Confusion by the explosion this Thursday in Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, but in Russia. The cause of the incident was a fighter from Russia itselfan SU-34, whose ammunition would have been precipitated by mistake, due to a failure during the flight.

The causes of the incident are unknown, but the Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed that it was not a Ukrainian attack. This self-attack is, according to its euphemism, an “abnormal drop in aerial munitions”.

A security camera has captured the moment in which a small explosion first occurs and seconds later, the road is blown up creating a large ball of fire.

The explosion has caused a sinkhole 20 meters in diameter and there are at least 3 people injured as confirmed by the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov: “One person refused hospitalization, one resident was diagnosed with a head injury and one woman was hospitalized and is now under medical supervision. Thank God there is no dead”.

A car that was passing right through the area where the ammunition fell went flying onto the roof of a nearby store. The surrounding buildings suffer major damage and the residents of Belgorod, like Svetlana, cannot believe it: “I was already in bed. The explosion was so strong that I jumped. I said: ‘What was that?’ I didn’t expect them to attack us.”

With everything full of rubble, crews of firefighters and excavators try to fix this disaster caused by Putin’s aviation.
