Poland has submitted a proposal for new EU sanctions against Russia, the Polish Press Agency reported on Tuesday. Thus, earlier reports of Polish Radio were confirmed. Radio correspondent Beata Płomecka informed that the proposals of the 11th package of sanctions, sent by Poland, Lithuania and Estonia, included, inter alia: further bans on exports, imports and transit through the territory of Russia.

Three countries, including Poland, have proposed, inter alia, a complete ban on the export of dual-use goods and advanced technologies, thus removing the existing exceptions. The document also mentions the necessary further import restrictions in the steel sector, sanctions on the import of diamonds and LPG from Russia, and further restrictions on the export of goods and technologies used in the production of drones. Among the collected proposals there are also those concerning sanctions in the nuclear sector – a separate document on this matter was submitted by these three countries and Latvia several days ago. Now in the document, three countries write briefly about basically 3 times NO: NO to new contracts with Rosatom, NO to investments in the Russian civil nuclear energy sector and NO to imports of enriched uranium from Russia.

In the 17-page document, Poland, Lithuania and Estonia also propose a ban on the transit through Russia of goods and technologies that may contribute to its military and technological strengthening and increase of industrial capabilities, as well as goods and technologies used in aviation and space industry. In addition, these countries are calling for sanctions against the laser industry and a ban on the use of IT support. – Poland, together with the Allies, is again submitting proposals for ambitious sectoral and trade sanctions against Russian institutions, criminals, oligarchs and propagandists. We want to help the Commission urgently present a draft of the next sanction regulation. We count on the cooperation of the Swedish Presidency. Together with our coalition partners, we will work to obtain unanimity among the EU 27 – commented on Tuesday in an interview with PAP quoted by Onet.pl, Permanent Representative of Poland to the EU Andrzej Sadoś.
