EU rules on Russia were extended once again on Thursday. The Wagner group and the media company RIA FAN, which are associated with Yevgeny Prigozhin – a businessman and friend of the president, have been blacklisted. Their assets have been frozen in Europe.

Yevgeny Prigozhin funds brutal mercenaries from combatants in various parts of the world, now taking an active part in the Russian assault on . It was the Wagnerians who launched the attacks on Sołedar and Bachmut. In turn, RIA FAN is an information portal belonging to the “media factory” of Prigozhin (Patriot Media Group, Prigozhin is the chairman of its supervisory board), which spreads Russian disinformation and propaganda about the war in Ukraine. In total, there are 1,473 people and 207 companies, institutions and organizations on the EU sanctions blacklist for actions threatening Ukraine’s independence.

After Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, the position of the “spy bank” has deteriorated significantly and is on the verge of solvency.
