The Belarusian authorities have asked the European Union to open a humanitarian corridor for some 2,000 migrants who are trapped on the border with Poland.

Lthe latest victim of the humanitarian tragedy on the border between Belarus and the EU it’s been a syrian baby for one year who has died in a forest in Poland, near the border with Belarus.
The little boy, along with his family, had been trying to survive in the forest for a month and a half, exposed to very low temperatures and without food.
This death reflects the tragic consequences of the migrant and refugee crisis between Belarus and Poland. As of today, there are an estimated 7,000 refugees in Belarus, and about 2,000 of them are trapped on the border with Poland, according to a spokesman for the Iraqi embassy in Moscow.
Many of them are from the Middle East, Afghans, Yemenis, Iraqis or Syrians, like the little deceased, who according to the British newspaper The Guardian he is the youngest fatality in this crisis.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have warned of the arrival of a winter “cruder”, that will aggravate the situation, so it is needed “urgently safe and unrestricted humanitarian access to save lives and alleviate suffering. “

The Polish Border Guard has reported this Friday of 255 new attempts to cross the border from Belarus by immigrants as well as the expulsion of 45 foreign citizens in the last 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the year, the Polish Border Guard has recorded more than 34,000 attempts to cross the border illegally.
