At least two people have died and a 13-year-old girl has been injured after the fire in mid-flight of a hot air balloon near the Teotihuacán Archaeological Zone, in the State of Mexico.
Some shocking moment that was recorded by some witnesses who were in the area. Municipal Civil Protection received a notice and sent personnel from the Valle de Chalco Region State Civil Protection, according to the newspaper ‘El Universal’.
Eyewitnesses have explained that the two deceased are the parents of the injured minor, who remains hospitalized.
Hot air balloon pilot arrested
The Mexican authorities have announced that the pilot of the hot air balloon has been detained, although remains still logged in at the city’s General Hospital, where he receives health care.
As reported by the Ministry of Health, agents from the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Mexico have entered the aforementioned hospital to take the pilot into the custody of the authorities of the hot air balloon, caught fire in mid-flight.
The detainee, a young person under 30 years of agehas burns on his face and other parts of his body and is now in the custody of the Prosecutor’s Office, as reported by the Mexican newspaper ‘La Jornada’.
