Two helicopters from the base US Military Fort Campbell, in Kentucky, they have crashed mid-air. According to the state governor, Andy Beshear, and based on the first reports of the accident, “fatalities are expected.”
From the Fort Campbell base they have issued a brief statement in which they state that the incident occurred during the training of two HH60 Blackhawksat about ten o’clock at night.
The two helicopters belonged to the 101st Airborne Division and crashed “during a routine training mission.” “He status of crew members unknown right now,” they explain.
The Kentucky Police and emergency services are acting at the scene. The event is already under investigation.
The governor has called for sharing information later, when more information about the incident becomes known.
