Chileans residing in Ecuador will be able to vote in Quito and Guayaquil in the general elections on Sunday

In both cities, the opening hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Those who decide to go must bring their Chilean ID or passport.

This Sunday, November 21, Chile will elect its new president. Chileans living in Ecuador will be able to cast their vote in the cities of Quito and Guayaquil, according to what the Consulate General of the country announced on Wednesday.

In the case of Guayaquil, the electoral precinct will be located at the Casa Grande University, located in front of door 6 of the Albán Borja shopping center.

For their part, in Quito, Chilean citizens who wish to participate in the election They must go to the Equinoctial Technological University (UTE), on the campus located at Bourgeois Street N34‐102 and Rumipamba.

The hours enabled for voting will be from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m..

Those who decide to go to vote must bring their Chilean identity card or passport (it may be expired from October 1, 2019), a blue ink pen, respect biosanitary measures and the use of a mask.

Since 2017, Chileans residing in other countries can exercise their suffrage in presidential elections, presidential primaries and national plebiscites.

In Chile, some 15 million people are summoned to vote on Sunday, although not mandatory. The vote will be presidential, legislative and regional. In addition to the successor of President Sebastián Piñera and the vice president, the election of 27 of 43 senators, 155 deputies and 302 regional councilors is at stake.

Jose Antonio Kast, of the Republican Party, who has shown concern about immigration and crime, is the one who leads the polls. Already surpassed Sebastian Sichel, the option of the ruling coalition Chile Vamos.
