‘The Wire’ Actor Lance Reddick Dead at 60

Lance Reddick, actor of “The Wire”, died this Friday at the age of 60, his publicist reported.

Reddick passed away suddenly this morning of natural causes. detailed Mia Hansen’s statement to AFP.

The American star was in the middle of promoting “john wick 4″, starring Keanu Reeves and scheduled to premiere next week in the United States.

In his most recent post on Instagram, on Thursday, he is seen at home with four dogs, in a nod to the blockbuster action saga that begins with the death of a puppy.

According to local media, Reddick was found dead at his home in Los Angeles.

“Lance will be sorely missed.” wrote his publicist.

His first big success on the small screen was in 2000, in the fourth season of the drama series “oz”, in which he played an undercover detective who ends up in prison.

Shortly after came the role for which he is best remembered, in the series “The Wire”, considered one of the best on television, and which reveals the intricate world of drugs in the United States.

In it, Reddick played police lieutenant Cedric Daniels, in charge of the narcotics team, and shared the screen with Idris Elba, Dominic West, the recently deceased Michael Kenneth Williams, and teenager Michael B. Jordan.

After working on the television series “fringe” as a security agent, the actor was booked for the first installment of “John Wick” in which he gives life to Charon, the concierge of a hotel in New York.

With more than one hundred credits between film and television, he leaves “Ballerina” in production, a film in which he stars with Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves, also derived from John Wick.

The actor, a native of Baltimore, was married to Stephanie Reddick, and had two children, Yvonne Nicole and Christopher.
