The authorities of Slovakia will send thirteen MiG-29 fighters and part of the ‘Kub’ anti-aircraft defense system to Ukraineas announced this Friday by the Slovak Prime Minister, Edward Hegerin a press conference after a meeting of his cabinet.
The shipment, which has been unanimously approved, was already requested in February by the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenskyand Heger promised to do everything possible about it, according to the Tasr agency.
Poland also announced on Thursday the shipment of four fighters. combat of this type in the coming days, although he did not specify the total number. The United States, for its part, has not changed its position regarding the shipment of F-16 fighters and for now it is not contemplating this step.
The ‘Kub’ are a Soviet-made caterpillar vehicle whose function is air defense and would serve, among other things, to respond to the bombardments launched periodically on Ukraine by Russian forces.
