Russia warns the United States. The Russian ambassador in Washington, Anatoli Antonov, has announced that “a deliberate attack against a Russian plane in neutral airspace it would be a declaration of war against the greatest nuclear power”.

The diplomat thus responded to a question from journalists in which they made reference to statements by Republican senators who have suggested shooting down Russian planes that approach US aircraft in international airspace.

The words of the diplomat come just hours after the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, admitted that any incident with the United States, such as the one that occurred on Tuesday between an American drone and two russian fighters in the black seacarries “very great risks”.

“Any incident that causes a confrontation between two great powers, two nuclear powers, the greatest in the world, It always carries great risks. They cannot not understand it,” Lavrov said in statements to the Rossía-1 television channel.

Lavrov assured that, following Washington’s logic of flying “wherever they want”, then “the airspace around the United States has the same status as the Black Sea”. “But they totally ignore the fact that since the beginning of the special military operation (in Ukraine) certain areas of the Black Sea (…) were declared to have a restricted status for the use of any flying device,” he said.
