It’s about more than 500 people transferred aboard the rescue ship ‘Diciotti’, other 379 divided into two other coast guard patrol boats and then transferred to the Navy ship ‘Sirio’, headed for the port of Augusta.

To these must be added the more than 500 people traveling in a fishing boat in poor condition which was in danger of shipwreck and was sailing, and which have been rescued near the Italian coast of calabria.

The migrants have arrived at the port of Crotona around 00:30 local time escorted by three patrol boats from the Crotone Port Authority and helped by a tug boat, according to ‘Rai’, and they are already at the reception center on Isola di Capo Rizzuto, near Crotone.

According to sources from the newspaper ‘La Repubblica’, the barge was sighted on Friday night by a mission plane from the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), and would have left the Libyan region of Cyrenaicain the east of the country.

The NGO Alarm Phone contacted some of the travelers when they were detected, and they made it known on their Twitter account: “They have called us from the Search and Rescue area of ​​Italy and we have already alerted the corresponding authorities.
