In the war in Ukraine, where the conflict is already over a year old, all kinds of weapons of war and mind games come into play to distract or confuse the enemy. With the arrival of tanks from different allied countries, there is a new ‘weapon’ that could be seen on the streets of the country.

The inflatable tanks are being created by the Czech company Inflatech Decoys, which has added the US HIMARS artillery launch system to its fleet of more than 30 types of lures life size inflatables

Although the company has not confirmed that Ukraine is among the countries where they have sent their tanks, its CEO, Vojtech Fresser, opened the doors to “support a partner who is in trouble“.

Made from synthetic silk, these tanks have a thermal footprint and show up on radar to deceive the enemy. They can be inflated in 10 minutes and a single unit can cost 100,000 euros, being the cheapest model of almost 10,000 euros.

“If you lead the enemy to destroy my piece of equipment with something that is four, or maybe 20 times more expensivethen you are winning financially”, defends Fresser.
