However, the militias of the National Resistance Front (FRN), who in recent hours had spoken of the capture of “hundreds” of Taliban mujahideen during the fighting that took place these days in Panjshir, have assured that it is “false” that the Islamists have taken control of the region.

“The claim of the Taliban that they have occupied Panjshir is false. FRN forces are present in all strategic positions to continue the fight. We assure the people of Afghanistan that the fight against the Taliban and their partners will continue until justice and freedom prevail, ”the FRN posted on its Twitter account.

Hours earlier, the FRN leader, Ahmad Masud, reiterated his willingness to “resolve the current problems and end the fighting immediately to continue negotiations.”

“The FRN is ready to stop the fighting on the condition that the Taliban also stop their attacks and military maneuvers on Panjshir and Andarab,” Masud said through a message posted on Facebook.
