Congress: Foreign Relations Commission evaluates declaring AMLO “persona non grata”

The president of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Congress of the republic, Maria Del Carmen Alvareported that his working group is evaluating declaring “ungrateful person” to the agent of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO).

The legislator from the Acción Popular caucus maintained that the aforementioned measure had previously been approved to be applied against leaders of various countries who have intervened in the country’s internal affairs.

“From the commission, we have spoken (regarding the interference), we have done everything we could do. It is a matter of political gesture (the declaration of “persona non grata”), we did it with Gustavo Petro (president of Colombia)”indicated the congresswoman to Infobae.

This action raised by Alva Prieto is related to the statement by Manuel López Obrado describing the president of Peru, Dina Boluarte, as a “spurious president”.

Along the same lines, the Mexican president showed his rejection of Boluarte’s legitimacy as Peruvian president.

Withdrawal of the Peruvian ambassador in Mexico

President Dina Boluarte announced that the Peruvian ambassador in Mexico is retiring “definitely” of that country, after AMLO’s words that were against his government.

“I have ordered the definitive retirement of our ambassador in the United Mexican States, and in this way diplomatic relations between Peru and Mexico are formally at the level of charge d’affaires”declared the Head of State during her message to the Nation last Friday.
