He year of war in Ukraine has left the world with virtually no ammo stocks: there are cannons and guns but no bullets. The factories are at full capacity and have tripled their production capacity, but even so, they cannot cope.
In the United States there are currently 14,000 shells per month and want to add 6,000 more in two months. They aspire to reach 90,000 next year.
And in Europe they follow the same path. In our country, the Granada Ammunition Factory It has increased its production by 300%, hiring 80 more people. And yet it is not enough: the war is spending more than it produces.
For example, Russia would be spending 50,000 projectiles a day, compared to the 7,000 that Ukraine can launch. That, in a month, would be more than a million and a half for Russia and 210,000 for Ukraine. It’s almost two million shells a month.
The problem is the industry’s lack of foresight, which has meant that in one year they have not been able to increase production enough for all that is spent on the ground.
