Israel bombarded the Gaza Strip on Thursday after identifying six rockets coming from the coastal enclave, the Israeli army reported, a day after a violent raid in the occupied West Bank that left 11 Palestinians dead, including six militants.

“The Israel Defense Forces attacked a weapons manufacturing center and a military complex belonging to the terrorist organization Hamas” in the Gaza Strip, an army spokesman said in a statement.

Shortly before, the same source reported that Israel identified six rockets fired from the coastal enclave that sounded anti-aircraft alarms in the Israeli towns of Ashkelon, Sderot and the area surrounding the Strip: “five of the rockets were intercepted by the system air defense equipment and a rocket fell in an unpopulated area”.
