Ant-Man shows off the new Marvel villain: Kang The Conqueror

Kang The Conqueror (Kang, El Conquistador) is the new supervillain of Marvel. That’s how he teaches it ant man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that reveals the power of this being, while combining the spectacularity of superheroes with family relationships.

In the third Ant-Man movie, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) stars the group in an adventure in a quantum world that acts as an alien prison (influenced by Ricky and Morty) in which their characters are trapped. .

The problematic relationship with his daughter, Cassie (Kathryn Newton), surrounds the play, but other characters take the reins of the script, such as Janet van Dyne, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, who becomes the true heroine. of the work before the conflict that Rudd suffers: the family.

“I really enjoy many aspects of Scott (Rudd)”tells Michael Douglas (Hank Pym, Dyne’s husband). “But I don’t approve. I like his humor, the grace he gives off, but for me, as a father, it’s like he doesn’t deserve my daughter and that creates tensions.

In this way, there is not a great protagonist, but interest takes several edges and the film produces jumps between some lines of the script and others: Scott’s relationship with his daughter, his marriage to Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), the in-laws, Janet’s secret past, and the introduction of the new villain of the post-Thanos Marvel franchise: Kang The Conqueror.

This character drinks from influences like Darth Vader and shows an unusual power so far. It has not been his first appearance in the Marvel universe, since he already appeared in an episode of the Loki series, but now his character becomes much more important and in addition to being the antagonist in Ant-Man, he will be in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and in Avengers: Secret Wars, to be released in 2025 and 2026.

The Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) is introduced as a time traveler, capable of jumping between different universes and with a force capable of “kill any superhero”. The strength of him as an individual further strengthens the need for a group and the importance of the protagonists as a whole, not each separately.

One that arrives, Kang, and another that can leave, Douglas, who does not reject the idea of appearing in a fourth Ant-Man film, but under one condition: die.

“I would probably like to do one more, although I would have to read the fine print in my contract”jokes Douglas. “If I did, it would be to have a great finish. I would want a great death, a wonderful closure ”says Douglas, who also admits that superhero movies aren’t used to having such older characters.

“I don’t think there are many old characters in Marvel movies, I’m probably one of the older ones, which makes you wonder, ‘Should I hang up my boots now?’ If I continued, I would surely ask them to let me go with a big “bang”, with spectacular special effects “explains Douglas.
