Evo Morales: parliamentarians from 14 countries accuse him of playing a “leading role” in protests

It is important to note that Morales was denounced before the National Prosecutor’s Office by the Peruvian congressman Jorge Montoya, for the alleged commission of crimes against national security and treason, in the modality of “attack against national integrity.”

Along these lines, the parliamentarians who sign the document sent to Alejandro AlmagroSecretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), They expressed their concern about the “destabilization process” that is being committed against the current Peruvian government.

“The leading role of the controversial Bolivian Evo Morales in the vandal protests that are carried out from the southeast of the country to Lima, with the aim of overthrowing the constitutional government of Dina Boluarte, is evident”refers to the letter.

Through an open letter addressed to the OAS Secretary General, representatives from countries such as Colombia, Argentina and Chile, members of the Madrid Forum, denounced that there is a international “destabilization” plan to the Government of Dina Boluarte.

Also, in the document signed by 118 parliamentarians and political leaders from Ibero-American and European nationsThey stated that the most serious fact is the behavior of supposedly democratic governments such as Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Honduras and Mexico.

“It is no coincidence (…) that these are the same governments that openly propose the dismantling of the OAS and its subsequent replacement by a biased CELAC and at the service of its ideological agenda,” points to the letter.

According to the document, these countries would be supporting “implicitly destabilize” by stating “falsely” that “Pedro Castillo was the victim of a ‘coup d’état’ when it is public and notorious that the now former president wanted to dissolve Congress to perpetuate himself in power.”

“This double standard constitutes a serious threat to our democratic systems and a risk to the peace and stability of our continent. This attitude must be condemned and disapproved, before it achieves its disastrous objectives.” detailed in the document.
