In the last hours of this Saturday, the rescue of survivors continued in various locations in southern Turkey and northern Syria.
Every minute that passes since the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that occurred last Monday shortens the hope of finding people alive among the rubble of the buildings that collapsed.
In a new balance of the authorities, more than 25,000 deaths are already counted. Time is not the only factor against it, also adverse weather conditions, with freezing weather, reduce the possibility of survivors.

This 40-year-old woman was immediately seen by doctors on Friday. The German team explained that, while she was buried, she had managed to supply her with water and fruit juices with a hose.
They maintained contact with her for several days thanks to a small well. “The rescue was very complicated because it was very narrow,” she said Friday to the AFP Stefan Heine, spokesman for the NGO, describing “inch by inch work with hammers”.
“The woman remained trapped for a long time, very close to deceased relatives,” he added.
The victim had managed to survive beyond 72 hours, a time limit that experts consider crucial to find survivors under the rubble. (YO)
