Atalanta visited Lazio this Saturday, for the 22nd round of the Italian Championship, and came out with a 2-0 victory, with goals from Zappacosta and Hojlund. With the result, the club climbed the table and remains firm in the fight for the G-4.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s team are now in third place in the tournament with 41 points, two less than second-placed Inter Milan. The difference for the leader Napoli is 15 units.
Lazio, in turn, dropped to sixth place, with 39 added. With the defeat, the team accumulated four games in the season without triumphs.
The first goal of the duel came out in the first half, at 22 minutes. Ademola Lookman received it from the left, already in the area, but was disarmed. In the spare, Zappacosta cleared and found a beautiful space to cross, high, and score a great goal.
The advantage was extended in the second stage. On the counterattack, Lookman made a move on the left, entered the area and crossed for Hojlund, who only had the trouble to push it to the back of the net.
Atalanta’s next appointment for the competition is on February 19, when they receive Lecce at 8:30 am (Brasília time), Lazio takes the field on Thursday against CFR Cluj, for the League conference, at 5 pm.
