What happened to Leidy Bacallao in Camalote, Cuba
On the night of Friday the 3rd, the teenager attended a party and until the celebration, in Camalote, in the Nuevitas municipality (Camagüey), her partner approached her, elesvan hidalgo.
After a few hours, the tragedy dramatically silenced the surroundings of where they danced and shared among friends.
Elesván was armed and nobody seems to have noticed it. That man, with a machete, ended up chasing Leydy through the streets until he caught up with him and took his life at the Camalote Police station.

How could this misfortune happen?
An activist, Alpidio Leyva, published on Facebook, according to Diario de Cuba, the testimony of a local resident.
According to what was collected, the party in Camalote passed without incident. Leydi was with friends. Elesván was there “and at 12:00 at night he began to want to abuse Leidy Bacallao. She ran to the Police sector asking for help, he entered and told the Police: ‘Kill me because I’m going to kill her’. They did nothing. Then she gave him a machete blow and then another that chopped her in half ”.
Faced with the bloody scene, the uniformed men reacted and tried to neutralize the perpetrator. One of them shot Elesván in the back.
José Luis Tan Estrada, a journalist, offers a version similar to the one discussed in Camalote. He was able to learn that the adolescent “arrived asking the Police for help because that man was going to kill her. They had her inside the Police. The guy got in and pulled her out of it and then he macheted her. It was after her that they shot her ”.
“As a result of the response of internal law enforcement, the author of the event was injured in the lower back. Forces of the Criminal Investigation system of the province continue the investigation for its total clarification”, confirmed the Ministry of Interior.
Background of the femicide
In an official note, the aforementioned ministerial portfolio confirmed the femicide. In it they described the person involved as a person “of terrible social conduct and with multiple criminal records.”

Leydy was going to the United States?
