Fifteen million people worldwide are at risk of catastrophic flooding from melting glacierseffect caused by global warming and more factors.
It was research led by Newscastle University in England that revealed the potential hotspots of these floods.
It is a phenomenon called violent glacial lake overflow, or GLOF, which can occur at any time and be quite destructive, causing great human, economic and more losses.

Since 1990, the number of glacial lakes has grown exponentially, and the number of people living in these basins has also increased, making the inhabitants worse off.
The scientists found that 15 million people live within 50 kilometers of a glacial lake. only people of India, Pakistan, China and Peru they add up to more than half of those who are at risk.
