The United States announced on Thursday an initial package of 85 million dollars for emergency aid after the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) stated in a statement that these funds will go to partner organizations “to urgently deliver the necessary help to millions of people”including food, shelter and emergency health services.
The United States has already sent rescue teams to Turkey and has contributed concrete breakers, electric generators, water purifiers and helicopters, officials said.
