For its part, the earthquake has left 1,250 dead and 2,054 injured in areas of Syria controlled by the authorities, according to data from the Syrian Ministry of Health published on its Facebook social network profile. These data correspond to the provinces of Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, Tartus and the areas of Idlib in the hands of government forces.

Humanitarian aid begins to arrive in Syria

These are two Iraqi-flagged planes that have landed at Damascus International Airport. The Foreign Ministry of iraq He has specified that each aircraft has 70 tons of food, medicine and blankets.

In addition, Iran has sent a plane with humanitarian aid for the victims of the earthquakes to Damascus. The Iranian ambassador in Damascus, Mahdi Sobani, has highlighted that the plane transports 45 tons of food, sheets, tents, medicines, medical supplies and other materials in what he has described as “the first package” of aid from Tehran.

This past dawn humanitarian aid has also arrived at the Aleppo airport from Algeria and Russia.
