A couple left their baby at Israeli airport check-in while trying to board a Ryanair flight after refusing to buy a ticket for the child.

Two parents with Belgian passports were detained by police after leaving her baby at the check-in counter at Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion Airport, according to the Jerusalem Post. The couple attempted to board a Ryanair flight from Tel Aviv to Brussels, but they had no ticket for their baby.

The Ryanair office manager said everyone was shocked, telling the Jerusalem Post: “We have never seen anything like this. We couldn’t believe what we were seeing.”

According to the Israel Airports Authority, lWhat happened was that the couple arrived late at Terminal 1 after they closed the check-in counter. They wanted to go through to deal with security and simply left their baby on the area’s conveyor belt. (YO)
