Brazilian Bruno Guimarães was expelled in the 38th minute of the final stage. Despite pressure from Southampton, the home team held on to the result and secured their spot in the final.
Also on Tuesday, Birmingham and Blackburn Rovers faced each other in the fourth round of the FA Cup. In overtime, Blackburn won 1-0, with an own goal by Auston Trusty, and are qualified for the next phase.
