“After listening carefully to the family of Tyer Nichols, community leaders and uninvolved officers who have done a good job, it is in the best interest of all permanently disable the SCORPION Unit“, the Memphis Police Department has published in an official statement.
The text explains that the agents assigned to this unit have accepted the decision. “The hateful acts of a few cloud the name SCORPION with dishonor. It is imperative that we as the Memphis Police Department take proactive steps in the healing process for all those affected,” he added.
