The company US credit cards Visa announced this Thursday that it has earned 4.179 million dollars in its first fiscal quarter (it does not follow the natural calendar), 6% more year-on-year.
In a statement, the financial entity disclosed that between October and December of last year it had a net turnover of 7.936 million, 12% more than the same section of the previous year.
Visa indicated that its payment volume remained stable (7%) and that there was growth in transactions processed thanks to the continued recovery in international travel.
Total transactions processed rose to $52.5 billion, up 10% year-on-year.
The chief executive, Alfred Kelly, said that on January 1 he will be replaced by the new CEO, Ryan McInerney, while he will become executive president.
The results, published at the close of Wall Street, were well received by investors and the shares of the listed company rose 1.60% in subsequent electronic operations. In the last year its capitalization has grown by 9%.
