The American had been captured on Tuesday in Panamaprior to boarding a flight to Turkey to go to another country that does not have an extradition agreement with the South American country.
“Mr. Jhon Poulos, you are required by the Prosecutor’s Office for the crimes of aggravated femicide in competition with concealment, alteration and destruction of material evidence,” the uniformed officers told him upon arrival in Bogotá.

Trespalacios’ body was found in a suitcase inside a dumpster in the city of Bogotá, just two days after moving into an apartment with her boyfriend.
According to the victim’s family, Poulos was a controlling and jealous man who, last December, hired a private investigator to follow Valentina’s movements.
The autopsy report showed that the young woman was strangled with a rope and beaten several times.
Upon arrival in Bogotá, Poulos had scratches on his face and neck. The Prosecutor’s Office reported that he will remain in the cells of the institution and that this Thursday a prosecutor from the Life Unit of the Bogotá Section will present him before a guarantee judge.

Colombian media reported that Poulos promoted a fundraising campaign through the GoFundme platform for one of his children who suffered from cancer.
In the 2017 petition, the man and his raised $60,000 to pay for treatment.
Within the shared images, Poulos can be seen smiling along with his wife and children.

I just read that apparently Valentina’s femicide is the father of 3 children, perhaps still married. In 2017 she had a GoFundMe for one of the children who had cancer.
I publish the photos because this is how feminicides also look: as “harmless” and very “normal” family men. pic.twitter.com/s8vOPjvzQc— Diana Carolina Mejía (@baudeleriana) January 25, 2023
