A new wave of airstrikes this Thursday in kyivthe capital of Ukraine, prompted the authorities to declare air alert throughout the country. One of the missiles launched by Russia hit a building, causing the death of a citizen.

“As a result of the impact of a rocket against a non-residential building in the Holosiiv district, one was killed and two were injured,” kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram. “The injured have been hospitalized,” he wrote.
The mayor had previously alerted kyiv residents to explosions in the Dnipro district, asking the population to “remain in shelters.”

The head of the Ukrainian armed forces, Valery Zaluzhny, confirmed the Russian attack.
“The Russian Federation today launched a massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine. The enemy launched 55 missiles,” Zaluzhny said on Telegram.
He also assured that Ukrainian air defense shot down 47 out of 55 missiles released by Russia.
Dimitro Kuleba, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, denounced that “among the targets of today’s massive missile attack, Russia has hit Odessacausing massive power outages.”
According to the official, “this destruction is (Russian President Vladimir) Putin’s response to UNESCO yesterday including Odessa on its World Heritage List and placing it under enhanced protection on the List of World Heritage in Danger.”
The Ukrainian air force specified on its Telegram channel that among the 55 “high-precision” missiles there were two of the KH-47 Kinjal type and four KH-59, launched from Mig-31 and Su-35 aircraft respectively. (YO)
