Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has decided to make changes in his cabinet and it has prohibited senior government officials from leaving the country in a first measure with which, according to some local media, it intends to put an end to the corruption that has spread in the country.

In a message posted on his website, Zelenski announced that he has decided to make “personnel changes,” asor the dismissal of one of the strong men of its Executive, the deputy head of the Presidential Office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, who has confirmed the resignation of his post in a letter. “I thank the President of Ukraine Volodimir Zelensky for the trust and the opportunity to do good things every day and every minute,” Tymoshenko wrote on his Telegram account.

He also thanked “each head of the regional military administrations (your support). You and I were able to build the most powerful team in the country. You are great. They are true warriors of the light!” she specified.

According to the Ukrainian outlet Hromadske, citing journalistic sources, Tymoshenko is scheduled to be replaced by Oleksii Kulebacurrent head of the kyiv Regional Military District Administration.

In this context, Hromadske advances that the heads of the military and civil administrations of the Sumy, Dnipro, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions could also resign in the coming hours. These last two regions are partly under the control of the Russian Army.

In addition, MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak announced that Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksii Symonenko was also sacked. For its part, the local media outlet ZN assured that the Deputy Defense Minister, Vyacheslav Shapovalov, has also submitted his resignation from office in the context of the open scandal in the country over fraud in the acquisition of food for the Armed Forces.

Zelensky announced, on the other hand, that Ukrainian officials “will no longer be able to travel abroad for vacations or for any other non-governmental purpose.” This measure “applies to all officials in the central government and various other levels of local government. It applies to those in charge of enforcing the law, the deputies of the peopleor, the prosecutors and all those who are supposed to work for the state and in the state,” he said.

And he announced that “within five days, the Cabinet of Ministers will develop a border crossing procedure for officials so that they can only leave the country when they have a true work trip that justifies it.”

The moves in upper echelons in Ukraine come as kyiv is trying to convince its allies to supply it with more weapons, specifically German-made Leopard 2 tanks, while at the same time presenting itself as a free country. of corruption.
