During a meeting with PiS supporters in Nysa, Jarosław Kaczyski was asked whether Poland would eventually receive money from the National Reconstruction Plan. He pointed out that the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced in recent days that our country would not receive money from this fund.
Kaczyński: I don’t think we can get this money
– In Warsaw she spoke [szefowa KE – red.]that she will give, there that she will not, because they are threatening to throw her out. It is illegal, of course, and we will get the money sooner or later. I guess just after winning the elections. Now I don’t think we can get this money because there is no point in making any further concessions. What we didn’t do, was “no” anyway – said the PiS chairman. – We carry out projects approved in the KPO. We will send the bills to the EU, perhaps we will bring them to court, he added.
On Saturday, in an interview for Radio Wrocław, Kaczyński said that at the moment it is primarily about the main measures that, according to the statements of several commissioners, are not endangered. – There is no reason why they should be questioned – stressed the PiS president once again.
At the beginning of June, the European Commission approved the National Reconstruction Plan for Poland, but set conditions. Their fulfillment is necessary to start disbursements from the EU Reconstruction Fund. These conditions are the so-called milestones, set out in detail in the annex to the decision of the European Commission with a positive assessment of the Polish KPO.
Poland wants to get EUR 35 billion from the Reconstruction Fund. Of this total, EUR 24 billion is non-repayable grants and the rest are preferential loans.
