“Beautiful women”, “cheap gas” or “Christianity”. These are some of the supposed attractions that ‘sells’ a controversial advertising spot published by the Embassy of Russia in Spain to encourage them to move to that country.
The announcement, under the title “Time to move to Russia”lists the ‘advantages’ of living there, among which the gas priceelectricity and water, or its “delicious cuisine”, “rich history” and “world famous literature”.
However, the clip also has other more surprising aspects: it boasts that Russia has “traditional values” and “Christianity”, as well as “beautiful women” and “vodka”. Also, according to the ad, there there is no “cancel culture”.
On the other hand, in full invasion of Ukrainethe spot boasts that Russia has a “economy that can withstand thousands of sanctions” and concludes with an appeal to move to Russia: “Don’t leave it for later, winter is coming“. A slogan that Moscow is launching at a time when the threat of a gas supply cut-off is looming over much of Europe.
