Xing warned a team of paleontologists to accompany him to the scene of discovery. There, they carried out a detailed investigation of the patio floor, where the footprints were finally identified as the footprints of two brontosaurus dated to the early Cretaceous period.

The team discovered more than 10 footprints of these dinosaurs which were eight-meter-long sauropods that lived in the city of Leshan about 100 million years ago.

The professor declared that “it was a significant discovery because it was the first time that dinosaur footprints in this city of China”.

Thanks to the discovery of this client observer, both paleontologists and archaeologists now have very useful information and important on the paleoecology of the early Cretaceous period in this area.

Peng Guangzhao, an expert from the Zigong Dinosaur Museum in Sichuan, together with Professor Xing Lida announced the discovery of fossil footprints after carrying out multiple studies on site, as well as measurement work, drone shots and 3D scans.
