Those who use the WhatsApp application will be able to edit your text messages once sent. In this way, you can prevent them from being deleted to rewrite them. The novelty will appear in a submenu with options for the message in question, along with others already available, such as “information” and “copy”.
This new function has been advanced by the specialized media WABetaInfo. The portal has recalled that it already talked about it in 2017, although WhatsApp ended up discarding it days later.
It is unknown if there will be a certain period of time to be able to edit the message after it is sent. The aforementioned medium rules out the introduction of an editing history of the messages to check previous versions of it. However, he acknowledges that WhatsApp’s plans may change in the face of its final deployment.
This new feature is still under development. Although the portal echoes its testing in the Android beta, it is expected that it will also reach the iOS and desktop betas.
WhatsApp is also testing another feature: reactions to messages in different skin tones. According to WABetaInfo, this feature is already being rolled out to users of the Android beta version 2.22.13.4.
This feature allows users to change the skin tone of their reactions based on the last tone used in their emoji list. For now, it’s limited to the thumbs-up and two-hands emote.
