Anonymous declared war on Russia and Vladimir Putin. Who is behind this mysterious group? [PODCAST]

The war in Ukraine made the world remembered once again about Anonymous, a mysterious organization that fights against Internet censorship, restriction of freedom and other abuses.

In the past, “Anonymous” supported, inter alia, Iranians protesting against election fraud, hacked regime sites during the Arab Spring, fought against pedophilia on the Internet and against neo-fascists. The whole world heard about them in 2012, however, when they joined the protests against the entry into force of international trade agreements ACTA, SOPA and PIPA.

One of the tools used by Anonymous are the so-called DDoS attacks, but the group also uses more specialized ways to achieve its goals: hacking servers, stealing data, and hijacking websites and other media.

While Anonymous is often seen as noble defenders of online freedom, the group has also done less glorious deeds. How did it come about? Who is behind this organization? Can “Anonymous” contribute to Ukraine’s victory in the war with Russia? Daniel Maikowski and Robert KÄ™dzierski talk about it in the new episode of the TechnoTerapia podcast.
