Roskachestvo: an old smartphone can benefit the owner in case of sale

Roskachestvo specialists listed the rules for selling old phones. This was reported on the website of the organization.

The authors noted that there is no point in keeping an outdated device at home. First, if the device is left discharged, then over time, due to chemical reactions, its battery can swell. Secondly, the life cycle of any device is not eternal – after the expiration of the support period, the device will work in a limited mode.

“That is why the old smartphone should not be left in the nightstand, where it will not be useful, but will only lose its performance,” the experts said. A device lying idle can be handed over to a thrift store – in this case, the smartphone can benefit the owner. However, as a rule, retailers buy back gadgets that are still under warranty and have minimal cosmetic defects.

Also, an outdated device can be sold on the classifieds site, taken to a pawnshop or handed over through the trade-in system. In the latter case, the owner of the device gives the old phone to the store, getting back a discount on the purchase of a new smartphone. “In the case of some models, a trade-in will be more profitable than taking the gadget to a pawnshop or commission,” experts noted.

Earlier, Roskachestvo specialists gave advice to owners of old smartphones. According to them, using outdated devices is risky if they are no longer receiving system updates.
