Apple plans to sell more expensive iPhones

DigiTimes: Apple has increased the production of iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max by 10 million units

Apple is going to significantly increase the production of premium smartphones of the iPhone 13 series, according to MacRumors.

Journalists refer to a report from the Taiwanese portal DigiTimes, according to which Apple decided to sell more expensive smartphones than previously planned. It is specified that in the period from April to June, the suppliers of the American company will have to produce 10 million more units of premium flagships. These include the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max models.

“Apple’s supply chain stakeholders are expected to benefit from this decision,” they said. The report says that the situation with the supply chain of components for technology has improved, in connection with which Apple decided to increase the production of smartphones. Experts attribute this decision to the shortage of American brand devices, especially in China.

Analysts also reminded that the company will report on the financial results of the second quarter on April 28. Apple is expected to tell its investors how well it is handling supply chain constraints.

Earlier, Canalys experts said that global smartphone shipments fell by 11 percent in the first quarter of 2022. At the same time, leading device manufacturers strengthened their positions – for example, Apple increased its share by 3 percent, to 18 percent.
