How to clear the cache of an iPhone

The storage capacity of the iPhone is nothing to complain about, but many people still find space problems. Also, having the cache full can affect device performance.

When we browse Safari and launch apps, we accumulate a lot of junk along the way, piling up tons of superfluous files in the device’s cache. The same thing happens with the data that we leave in the applications that we download. The best way to fix it is to clear the iOS cache.

What is mobile cache

Your iPhone’s cache is a location on your device that holds temporary data and can help websites and apps load faster. However, it can also eat up your storage so there comes a time when knowing how to clear cache becomes necessary.

How to clear iPhone cache

1. Clear Safari Cache

If you have some performance issues, start by clearing your browser cache. Although the files in the cache are small, over time they accumulate and affect the speed of the device. These are the steps you must follow:

one. Go to Settings.

two. Scroll down until you see Safari.

3. Click on Clear history and website data.

Four. A message will appear warning you that clearing the cache will delete your history, cookies, and other browsing data.

5. Click on “Clear history and data”.

2. Clear cache of third-party apps

To get rid of the cache of your applications, you must “unload” them. This frees up storage space, but leaves your user data intact. If you want to download the app again, all your data will be restored without the hassle of restoring everything from scratch.

Here’s how to clear your app’s cache.

one. Go to Settings.

two. Click on General.

3. Tap on iPhone Storage.

Four. You’ll see a list of all the apps on your phone. Tap the one you want to delete and tap Download App.

For apps that don’t offer a button to clear the cache, another option is to delete the app and reinstall it.

You can decide what to prioritize in the erasing process by looking at Settings > General > iPhone Storage.

Another option that allows you to keep the mobile lighter is to install some cache cleaner app. These apps help you avoid duplicate photos and files, among other things.
