Information security expert Vitaly Vekhov in an interview with Sputnik radio called the Russians a way to distinguish a fake application from a real one.
According to him, many buyers, when ordering and paying for goods online, use mobile applications, and not the official websites of stores. “If you really want to use a mobile application for shopping, then you can install it on your smartphone only from the official website of a trusted organization, then there will be a guarantee of security,” he said.
The specialist also advised not to react to ads that pop up on the smartphone screen. “You can’t install an app that offers intrusive pop-up ads because it’s a fake app with a 60 percent chance,” he added.
Earlier, a tender from the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia (Ministry of Digital Industry) to create a system for monitoring phishing sites appeared on the single portal of public procurement. The ministry plans to start looking for fraudsters in the data of client applications and mail services.
