How to search for someone’s first post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp…

We are more and more assiduous in documenting our lives on social networks, filled with so many publications that it is often difficult to reach the first content a user posted in any of them. We review what ways there are to consult the first publication of a user -or even remember ours- in the main social networks:

Instagram

In the case of Instagram, there are two options depending on whether we are using the desktop version or the smartphone version. In it computer browser, you simply have to ‘scroll’ down until you locate the first publication, which we can save by clicking on the icon to the right of the ‘Like’ button. If we’re too lazy to do so much ‘scroll’, there is a Google Chrome extension called SocialScroll that activates an automatic ‘scroll’ that advances progressively until reaching the end of a user’s ‘feed’.

If, instead, we are using Instagram on our phone, swiping to the first post can be more cumbersome. In this case, we have the option of installing a program like FindFirstPost, a tool that allows us to find both the first, second and third posts of a profile and, in addition, those publications with the most ‘likes’.

Twitter

To find the first tweet from an account, simply use the advanced twitter search engine in its desktop version, which is accessed by pressing on the three horizontal points to the right of the search bar (once the results of the search made are displayed). Once there, the profile in question is written in the ‘Accounts’ section preceded by the at symbol (@).

Subsequently, proceed to limit the search in time within the ‘Dates’ section. Therefore, it is convenient to know in advance when the user in question joined Twitter, information that is available on the main page of all profiles next to the location, just below their biography. Once done, click on the search button and then click on the ‘Most recent’ section to ‘scroll’ down and locate the first tweet of the account from its registration in the social network.

Facebook

To locate the first post of a Facebook user, click on the ‘Settings and privacy’ section that appears when you click on the downward arrow located at the top right of the screen. Subsequently, you must enter ‘Activity log’, then ‘Your publications’ and, finally, set the date filter to navigate through the different months and years until you find the first publication.

First message of a conversation on WhatsApp or Telegram

Although the instant messaging application is not a social network to use, WhatsApp It is one of the most used apps to communicate. Thus, if we want to access the first message of a conversation without having to ‘scroll’ there is three possible ways.

One option is to use a auto scroll ‘app’ such as Easy Scroll, available on both the Play Store and the App Store. another way is write part of the first message or from the first messages published in a conversation within the WhatsApp search bar.

However, since we may not remember those first words, it is advisable, preventively, mark the first message as ‘Starred’ of a conversation by pressing on it and clicking on the option that appears next to a star. Thus, we can always access it from the ‘Settings’ section.

In the case of Telegram, the process is simpler than in WhatsApp: just enter the profile of the person in whose chat you want to search and select the ‘Search’ option that appears under the magnifying glass icon. Next, the possibility of searching by specific words or by days is offered, for which you must click on the calendar icon at the bottom left. In addition, the photos sent in the conversation each day will be displayed.
