NTT Data Foundation launches a new edition of the eAwards Spainthe Spanish competition of the Global eAwards, which this year celebrates its 21st edition, positioned as one of the most relevant awards in the field of technological entrepreneurship.
Prizes are open to technological projects with a high impact on people’s lives, environmentally responsible, that are at least in the prototyping phase and do not exceed one million euros in turnover in the last three years. The deadline for the presentation of candidacies ends on May 1.
The winning project will receive 20,000 euros, will access a specialized acceleration program and will compete as a Spanish representative in the international final of the Global eAwards, where if you are the winner you will receive an additional prize of €60,000 and access to a personalized acceleration program. Due to the economic endowment, the quality of the program and the wide international recognition, the eAwards receive more than 2,000 candidates each year.
The interested may submit their applications on the web: eawardsspain.es/. Once the registration period has closed, on May 1, the analysis phase of the proposals received will begin to choose the semifinalists, who will present their projects to a jury of experts who will decide which proposals go on to the final phase. The projects selected as finalists will have free access to mentoring from NTT DATA experts. After their election, the final of the eAwards Spain 2022 will be held to choose the winner, who will be the Spanish representative in the international final of the Global eAwards.
In search of the best technological projects
The national eAwards will search, simultaneously and throughout 2022, for the best technological projects of the year in 14 countries in Europe and Latin America, in addition to Spain: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Holland, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, United Kingdom, Romania and Switzerland. The best initiative will represent their country in the international final of the Global eAwards, where they will compete to win the additional prize of 60,000 euros and an acceleration program.
This final will be held in Madrid in October 2022 during the NTT DATA Talent Week, a week in which the winning entrepreneurs of the different international calls will meet, and in which the Foundation puts at your disposal different tools, methodologies and contacts with investors and experts to respond to the specific needs of their ideas, projects and ‘startups’.
In addition, the Foundation, in its objective of promoting entrepreneurship and promoting innovation, will carry out the second edition of the virtual NTT DATA Talent Week for all participants, where it will offer the opportunity to network, attend conferences and workshops given by international experts, present projects to investors and experts in communication, financing or technology, meet new and potential clients, create alliances, find sources of innovation and identify new investment opportunities.
2021, a call with a Spanish flavor
In the last edition, the winner of the Spanish call was also the winner of the Global eAwards, obtaining a total prize of 80,000 euros. The winner was Captoplastic, a project that allows to add, quantify, identify and eliminate the presence of microplastics in aquatic environments such as sea water, waste water or fresh water, among others. Raquel Parra, CEO of Captoplastic, collected the award.
In the last Spanish edition, highly innovative initiatives were received, such as Checktobuild, an intelligent control service for construction projects available through a website with artificial intelligence; Recircular, a digital platform that helps identify opportunities to give waste a second life, generating economic savings and environmental benefits; Sycai Medical, a digital assistant for the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer by imaging; Airway Shield, the world’s first device for endotracheal intubation; Ecustoms, a platform that facilitates synchronization in logistics operations, transport, customs, etc.; and Yakk, a platform that facilitates the rental of any object for as long as you need in an easy, secure and flexible way.
