According to Meduza, the Russian prosecutor’s office has applied for recognition of Facebook as an extremist organization. Officers explained before the court that the Meta company did not remove from the Internet entries in which Internet users wished the death of Russian soldiers and Aleksander Lukashenka.

This is not the first time that the Russian government has tried to fight against organizations that are unfavorable to it. Last year, a Moscow court recognized the Foundation for Combating Corruption, which he headed, as an extremist organization.
