Experts noted the great contribution to the development of the segment by Apple, which began to produce 5G phones in 2020. “These regions — China, North America, and Western Europe — are expected to continue to make a significant contribution to 5G sales around the world, as even without offering competitive specifications, there is a huge and constant demand for 5G upgrades among iOS users,” the experts emphasized. The authors of the report predicted that in the future, gadgets with support for the new technology will be popular in the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America and the Middle East.

Also, the popularization of the new communication technology was facilitated by Chinese manufacturers, who increased the production of low-cost devices. According to the authors of the report, the average cost of a processor for smartphones with 5G support is $20.

Earlier, BGR journalists said that Apple had sold out the entire first batch of third-generation iPhone SE. The success of the model was explained by the low price and 5G support.
