Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is Omdia’s most popular foldable smartphone

Omdia analysts estimate that gadget makers have delivered nine million foldable devices to the market in 2021. On an annualized basis, the growth was 309 percent. Samsung was named the undisputed leader of the segment. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 was the most sought after device with 4.6 million units sold.
The top 3 also included Galaxy Z Fold 3 – 2.5 million units, Huawei Mate X2 – 500 thousand units. The list of popular foldable phones also included Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, Huawei Mate X2 4G, Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold, Oppo Find N.
According to the forecast of experts, in 2022, Chinese manufacturers – Huawei, Xiaomi and others – will mainly concentrate on the local market. It follows from this that nothing will interfere with Samsung’s leadership in the global market: “Global consumers will not have much choice but smartphones from the Korean company.”
In mid-February, Canalys analysts said that 8.9 million foldable smartphones were sold in 2021. On an annual basis, this segment of the market grew by 148 percent.
