The war has been going on for almost two weeks. Hackers from both sides are involved in the activities. The Russians are spreading disinformation on the Internet, and the Anonymous collective also joined the war.
Anonymous hacked Russian TV
At the beginning of the war, they hacked Wink and IVI (Russian streaming services) and TV channels Russia 24, Pivy channel (Channel one) and Moscow 24. On Sunday evening, Anonymous TV account, which is watched by over 300,000. people said that all state-owned channels in Russia had been seized. The Russia Today channel in France was also hacked. To confirm this news, recordings and photos of the channels taken over were uploaded.
Instead of the standard broadcast, they broadcast recordings of the war in Ukraine. A board with the words “ordinary Russians are against the war” was also displayed. Calls were made to oppose the Russian genocide in Ukraine.
Anonymous reveal that Russia will have its own internet
They had previously informed that Russia wants to cut itself off from the global internet. They pointed to a leak from the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.
Russia was already testing its disconnection from the global one in 2019. Such an operation was then carried out during a 30-day test. Russia has also adopted the law on the “sovereign Internet”, which aims to reconstruct the network structure so that Russian Internet communication runs through junctions inside the country.
